The UI contents and the text cover too much on small screen devices, and it causes a bad watching experience. We consider a screen with height lower than 640dp to be a bad case. According to the statistics, devices under such condition account for 41.93% of new users, and 31.83% of TT Android. According to other test, we also find reducing icon size got retention increased on small screen devices.

Current Status

Our backend currently shows that the primary small screen device sizes in use are 360x640 and 320x534, with two pixel ratios: x1.5 and x3. We will make adjustments and adaptations to address various display issues in the Feed, referencing standard mobile device dimensions under different circumstances.

Top Bar

To accommodate our global audience with diverse writing systems, we’ve implemented text fading on the top bar to handle cases where the text is too long to display fully.

Right Margin

We’ve also adjusted the spacing between the description and the engagement panel to ensure that users across various devices can clearly view all the displayed information.

Caption Padding

Small spaces matter! That’s why we’ve optimized the padding for each caption to make it more comfortable to read and interact with.

Margin Height

Tiny changes can make a big difference! We’ve reduced the height of the snackbar by 4pt for small-screen devices.

Toast height

Toast height as well! We've changed the toast height for small screen devices from 49pt to 42pt.

Navigation

For the navigation bar, the regular size will still be 49pt. While for the Grand Neo Plus with a smaller screen size, the navigation height will be 42pt.
